Coyote-

 Neutered Male
• 12 pounds
• 9 years old
• ID#: 843507

Coyote is a little senior guy who came to PACC with multiple other dogs when their owner could no longer keep them. His former person told the shelter that he is well-mannered, lived in the same home his whole life, gets along with everyone (including children), just NO CATS, please. At PACC, he is housed in a kennel with several other smaller breed dogs, so fitting in at a household with multiple doggy pals would be fine by him, or he could also be your one and only and soak up all the love (and yummy treat!) for himself. We know he won’t be around very long, but if he is, we will update his info as we learn more about him. He is available to adopt or foster.

Come meet him at Tucson Rescue Now, located at 4752 E. Grant Rd. (SE corner of Grant and Swan), open Thursday through Sunday from 11am to 3pm, or message us through our Facebook page, or email info@tucsonrescuenow.org for more information!

Kringle-

• Neutered Male
• 57 pounds
• 4 years old
• ID#: 886047

Kringle is a handsome guy who really wants to leave the shelter life behind for good. He originally arrived as a stray at PACC, and during his time there, he has had some adventures with shelter volunteers who just love him. He enjoys car rides, hiking, he’s house-trained, sociable and overall pretty laid back and mellow. He needs some good groceries to gain some of the weight he’s lost (likely due to shelter stress). He’s ready for his next chapter and new adventures.

Milie-

• Spayed Female
• 65 pounds
• 4 1/2 years old
• ID#: 878821

Millie is currently in a loving foster home, looking to find her forever person/family. She found herself at PACC when her former owner could no longer keep her. Her foster tells us:

Millie is a complete and total lovebug and the very definition of a Velcro dog once she knows and trusts you. She is definitely shy/nervous at first with new people, especially with men. She walks well on a leash, although she does have a bit of reactivity to other dogs, especially smaller dogs. She knows “sit,” “down” and “stay.” She doesn’t beg for human food, ever. She’s slowly learning how to play with toys. She frequently gets zoomies in our backyard and LOVES to be outside, even if it’s just to hang out and lie around in the grass. She has bursts of almost puppy-like energy when she is running around outside. Sometimes she will randomly chase her tail for a minute or two, which is very cute. She needs to meet any dogs in the home before she gives her paw stamp of approval. She is available to adopt.

Come meet her at Tucson Rescue Now, located at 4752 E. Grant Rd. (SE corner of Grant and Swan), open Thursday through Sunday from 11am to 3pm, or message us through our Facebook page, or email info@tucsonrescuenow.org for more information!

Snowy-

• Spayed Female
• 53 pounds
• 6 years old
• ID#: 502288

Snowy is now in foster and is actively looking for her forever home! Here’s what they’ve learned about her over the past few days:

*Walks nicely on leash
*Is very patient with her harness being put on and taken off
*Not a huge fan of being brushed or having her legs and feet touched
*Other dogs make her nervous and she prefers to avoid them
*Noises scare her, she startles easily

Many of these behaviors are consistent with hoarding case dogs who lived entirely outdoors. She needs a calm, peaceful environment to not only decompress from the shelter life, but also to learn that she is safe and secure. With time, patience and lots of love, she will settle in and figure out she is finally home.

Snowy came to PACC as part of the large hoarding case earlier this year. As so many of the dogs who came from that place, she is shy, nervous and most things scare her. New experiences, scary. New people, scary, till she feels safe with you. but once she does, she begins to open up. She has watched her family members all leave as each one was adopted or fostered. She continues to wait for her special person or family. Ideally, she would have a calm and confident doggy pal to help her learn that life doesn’t have to be terrifying, and can actually be pretty darn good. She needs a secure environment, she is not going to be an outside stuck-in-the-backyard-by-herself dog anymore. She deserves to be a part of a loving home where she can finally, maybe for the first time EVER, feel safe and secure.

Harley-

• Neutered Male
• 87 pounds
• 9 years old
• ID#: 724301

Harley is a big boy who arrived as a stray at PACC recently.

What we know about him:

He is a lovely guy who adores people. He’d like to meet any potential doggy friends before he heads home and would prefer they be mellow and laid back. In a previous home, he lived with his brother, so he could definitely be in a multi-dog home. He enjoys toys, especially the honking pig type (there’s a video on our page). We’ve been told he might chase cats at first, but he settles down quickly and reportedly never harmed any. He enjoys his walks, especially when he gets to smell all the smells while he’s out and about. He has previously been able to clear a 5 foot fence, so a secure backyard and supervised time outside is a must. He recommends not leaving trash out for him to peruse, he enjoys emptying them. He will sometimes fetch if it’s a toy he likes, and he might even play a little friendly tug of war.

Opalite-

• Spayed Female
• 33 pounds
• 7 years old
• ID#: 896040

Opalite found herself at PACC as a stray. No one came for this cute girl, but their loss is your gain! She is a petite gal, not even 35 pounds, and shelter volunteers tell us she is lovely and a real sweetheart. As we get to know her (if she hangs around, which we doubt, since she is smaller), we will update her info. She is available to adopt or foster.

Come meet her at Tucson Rescue Now, located at 4752 E. Grant Rd. (SE corner of Grant and Swan), open Thursday through Sunday from 11am to 3pm, or message us through our Facebook page, or email info@tucsonrescuenow.org for more information!

Pup-

 Neutered Male
• 75 pounds
• 10 years old
• ID#: 866818

Pup came to the shelter last summer after he lost his owner. Severely overweight and with some significant health challenges, he was lucky to land in a loving foster home right away. During his time with his foster, he has lost a tremendous amount of weight and thanks to help from Friends of PACC, he is visiting our neighbor, A Loyal Companion. There he gets swim therapy and has learned to use his doggy wheelchair, which has dramatically improved his quality of life. His wheels are part of the package deal with this great boy. He’s housebroken, gets along with big and little dogs in the home (he’d love to meet any new doggy pals), and he’s looking for a loving home to spend all of his golden tomorrows. He is available to adopt or transfer to a new foster, and his adoption includes a session at A Loyal Companion to help you learn how to work with his cart and harness.

This week he is with us Thursday & Friday (4/2 & 4/3), so if you are wanting to meet him, stop by one of those days, between 11am and 3pm!

Come meet him at Tucson Rescue Now, located at 4752 E. Grant Rd. (SE corner of Grant and Swan), open Thursday through Sunday from 11am to 3pm, or message us through our Facebook page, or email info@tucsonrescuenow.org for more information!

Foster Dogs

Laverne-

• Spayed Female
• 74 pounds
• 9 years old
• ID#: 879124

Laverne arrived at PACC earlier this year as part of a very large hoarding case. There were, as you might expect, many issues that these poor dogs endured prior to arriving at the shelter. This big gal is very friendly and is housed with a younger large male dog at PACC. In play group, she is said to be social and tolerant of the other dogs, but really prefers the company of the people, soaking up all the love she can. As we learn more about this new girl, we will update her info.

Kaia-

• Spayed Female
• 80 pounds
• 8 years old
• ID#: 878948

Kaia’s recent foster breaks have been so good for her, and her foster has great things to share about her:

Kaia is such a sweetheart! It has been an absolute pleasure fostering her. Let me count the ways:
1. Lovable – She’s a cuddler who’s happy to sleep beside me while I’m working – and functions as a great foot warmer when she’s laying under my desk. However, her forte is curling up on the couch and laying her head in my lap.
2. Friendly – She’s a people person.
3. Quiet – Kaia doesn’t bark, snore, or slurp. Okay, she does bark at the Amazon guy, but she doesn’t bark at people or dogs walking by when we’re out.
4. Polite – She greets me with a smile and wagging tail, but never jumps up. She takes treats like a dainty princess. And it is simply below her royal status to beg for attention or food.
5. Easy-going – Calm, content. She is so over with separation anxiety, chewing up toys or shoes, counter surfing, and hiding socks. Let’s just chill, momma!
6. Easy walker – We walk short distances throughout the day, with respect to her mild arthritis. I’d say that 95% of the time it’s loose-leash heaven with a normal harness and allowing some scratch and sniff. However, she can tense up, tug and glare hard at some dogs. Then we cross the street and reverse course. If needed, I pull her close, distract her, turn her away from the sight of the other dog, and ask her to sit. Very manageable.
7. Surprising – It’s true she spends the day rotating through different sofas, soft rugs, and the dog bed in my bedroom. Yet she has bursts of playful energy. For instance, when we walk, I never know when she’s going to break into her Best of Show brisk trot. She acts like she’s taking a victory lap at Westminster, leaving me trotting beside her like one of the matronly handlers in sensible shoes.
8. Low-maintenance – At some point in our lives, we want to simply relax with a loyal roommate. This dog has got the personality and the good soul to be that best friend.

She would prefer to be your one and only, and a home with adults would be ideal, please. She is available to adopt or foster.

Astrid-

• Spayed Female
• 59 pounds
• 8 1/2 years old
• ID#: 841285

Astrid is adored by her long-term foster family, especially the two young boys she loves to play with! They want her to find the very best forever home. She loves car rides, is a huge snuggler (she even comforts the kids when they’re crying), plays a little fetch, appreciates a spirited game of tug and enjoys rolling in the grass. She’s a great mix of play time and just hanging out with her people. She is technically a senior, but you’d never know it; she enjoys life and loves to de-squeak toys in record time. She was previously housed with male dogs at PACC, although after being the one and only dog in the home, she seems to prefer it that way. This special gal will steal your heart! She is available to adopt.

Monkey-

• Neutered Male
• 65 pounds
• 8 years old
• ID#: 631679

Monkey has been at PACC before, and was lucky enough to find a wonderful foster home where he gets to live with two other dogs. He is looking for his forever home, and he’d love to meet a new doggy pal, or he’d also be happy to soak up all the love for himself. He was also at TRN about 2 1/2 years ago when we were still at LA Encantada, so we welcome him back to the TRN family!

His foster tells us:

Monkey is the biggest sweetie. He was adopted through PACC and then found as a stray a few years later. He adores his people.

He loves:
*Stuffed animals
*Water: he likes to lay in kiddy pools and play with the hose water when you water plants.
*Walks although he’s a bit dog reactive on the leash and pulls. We use a gentle leader with him.

He is good with dogs off leash. PACC told us he was great in play and with his kennel mates. He is also the MOST gentle dog with play. He is so careful with his mouth. (Unless you’re playing tug) then he does not pay attention to where your hand is lol. He’s very active and full of life for sure.

He does counter surf and bark when someone knocks but usually calms down quickly once’s he meets the person. Overall he’s a really great dog.

He is available to adopt.

Dill-

• Neutered Male
• 73 pounds
• 2 years old
• ID#: 878632

Dill came to PACC after he was shot in the leg. Thankfully, PACC was able to save his leg and he is healing from his physical trauma. He’s been living with his wonderful foster for a while now and they have this to share about him:

He’s done well with other dogs during his time at PACC, including sharing a kennel, and he would like to meet any new doggy pals before he gives his enthusiastic paws up of approval.

Some of his favorite things: belly rubs, learning new things, car rides, squeaky toys, NAPS!

He’s house-trained, crate-trained, not destructive and melts into affection.

Loves adventures, especially trips to Mount Lemmon.

Super smart, he already know: Sit, Stay, Come, Wait and Look

He is looking for his forever home and will be coming to TRN to help him find his new person/family. He’s a young guy and continues to heal, and he’s ready for his next chapter! He is available to adopt.
